EXPERT Alliance refers to the global organization, and may refer to one or more, of the member firms of EXPERT Alliance, each of which is a separate legal entity (TAX EXPERT International Ltd.; Fiduciary EXPERT Global Ltd.; XATEX Ltd.). The data controller collecting and processing the personal information provided by a visitor to expertalliance.ch is the EXPERT Alliance member firm in the visitor’s country or another EXPERT Alliance member firm to which the visitor has submitted their personal information.

This statement, set forth below, is our privacy statement for the global organization of EXPERT Alliance member firms and other entities within EXPERT Alliance. Here we describe the practices we follow to respect the privacy of all visitors to Our Site.

In this statement, personal information means data which relates to an individual and which identifies that individual, either directly or indirectly, such as your name or your contact information.

Collection, use, disclosure, choice
Registration is not required for you to use Our Site. If you are merely a visitor, we do not collect any personal information about you, except to the limited extent through the use of cookies, which are described below. However, there may be circumstances in which you choose to register at EXPERT Alliance or at the websites of EXPERT Alliance firms for receiving ongoing updates. In these cases, EXPERT Alliance or EXPERT Alliance member firms may contact registrants to invite them to special events, provide them with information about our services, publications and products, or for other marketing purposes.
For example, you may choose to register for:

  • TAX Facts, FIDUCIARY Facts, FINANCIAL Facts
    EXPERT Alliance offers an email alert service to site visitors, in which we send subscribers latest information on new developments relevant to actual practice. If you decide to subscribe, we will collect basic contact information about you, such as your name and email address.

Special categories of personal data
EXPERT Alliance does not intentionally collect any special categories of personal data (sensitive personal information) via Our Site unless in a specific country we are legally required to do so, for example, for recruitment purposes. Sensitive personal information includes: information revealing racial or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious or philosophical beliefs; trade-union membership; the processing of genetic or biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person; information concerning health; information concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation; and in some cases, social security numbers or financial information.

Security
EXPERT Alliance works to protect the confidentiality and security of information it obtains in the course of its business. Access to such information is limited and policies and procedures are in place, designed to safeguard the information from loss, misuse and improper disclosure.

Disclosure
EXPERT Alliance may only disclose your personal information outside of EXPERT Alliance:

  • Where the disclosure is necessary to fulfill your request and involves a third party organization with which EXPERT Alliance has relationship; or
  • When explicitly requested by you, the site visitor; or
  • As required by a court order or any other legal or regulatory requirement; or
  • Where the disclosure is reasonably related to the sale or other disposition of all or part of our business.

EXPERT Alliance may use external service providers to assist with, for example, information technology and other administrative support services to operate Our Site.

Controlling your personal information
EXPERT Alliance does not collect or compile personal information obtained by Our Site for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes or host mailings on behalf of third parties.

A revised Data Protection Act (revDSG) has been in force in Switzerland since September 1, 2023.
The revised Data Protection Act sets out clear guidelines on the collection, processing, storage and use of personal data. Under these new provisions, companies and organizations are now required to operate more transparently. This includes stating the purpose of the data collection as well as the method by which this data is used. In addition, data subjects must now give their express consent to data processing.

Companies are also required to take measures to guarantee the security of this data. These include encryption, access controls and regular security checks. Likewise, data subjects are given the right to access and edit their data at any time. It is the responsibility of companies to ensure that data is not stored longer than necessary.

Cookies and Web Beacons
Our Site uses cookies, Web Beacons and other web technologies such as CAPTCHA’s to improve Our Site’s performance and to enhance your browsing experience. Certain areas of Our Site also use cookies to understand more about you, so we can offer you a more personalized browsing experience.

What is a cookie?
